Ordinary people saved by the finished work of Jesus Christ
in an unparalleled act of grace
History: Grace Bible Church began August 15th, 2004 when a group of Christians wanted to come together to be exactly what the name stands for: ordinary people, saved by the finished work of Jesus Christ in an unparalleled act of grace and who choose to live according to the Bible by God's empowering grace. Grace Bible Church is an independent, Bible-believing place of worship where you can expect to hear the Word of God preached at each and every service. If you are looking for a good, Bible believing and teaching place of worship, we extend a warm welcome for you to join us in serving our Savior. We originally met at the mission chapel at West Virginia Rescue Ministries in Fairmont, West Virginia. In 2005, we began meeting at the Mellon Chapel in Dellslow, WV. Our little country church has an active program, complete with an exciting Vacation Bible School, outings, camps, and mission trips for the young and young at heart.
Beliefs:
- The Scriptures: We believe that the Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17).
- The Godhead: We believe that one God exists in three persons, called the Trinity (Matthew 28:14).
- The Virgin Birth: We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Luke 1:35).
- Man: We believe man was created in the image of God and by one man's choice, all human beings are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:23).
- Atonement of Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross (Romans 5:1).
- Resurrection and Return of Christ: We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven. We also believe that Christ is coming again to claim His children (Matthew 25:31).
- Resurrection of Man: We believe in the bodily Resurrection of the dead (Matthew 8:11-12).
- Ordinance of the Church: We believe in both baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper (Acts 2:41-42).
- Security of the Believer: We believe that once a person is saved, they are saved for eternity (I John 5:32).
Meeting Times: On Sundays we have Sunday School at 10am and the Morning Service begins at 11am. Our Sunday Evening Service begins at 6pm. On Wednesdays we have a Prayer Meeting for adults that starts at 7pm and a Youth Group Meeting (open to all ages, from elementary school to college students) that starts at 6:30pm. Grace Bible Church also hosts a Vacation Bible School each summer, usually in July.
Directions: Grace Bible Church meets at the Old Mellon Chapel (built in 1876) at the corner of Pixler Hill Road and Breakiron Hill Road. Take the I-68 Sabraton Exit and turn east on Route 7. Go 1.8 miles before turning right at the Goodtimes Lounge onto Beulah Road for 0.4 miles. As you ascend what must be the steepest hill in America, turn left at the intersection of Breakiron Hill Road. Mellon Chapel will be on your left. Parking is above the chapel.
In the winter, follow the directions above but bypass Goodtimes Lounge and Beulah Road. Proceed about 3/4 of a mile. Just before you cross Deckers Creek, make a sharp right turn onto Pixler Hill Road. Proceed up Pixler Hill Road and turn left into Breakiron Hill Road. Mellon Chapel will be on your left. Parking is above the chapel.

For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
